Corporal Joseph Bartelt (left), a native of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lance Cpl. Otto Villavicencio (right), a native of Miami, both Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting specialists with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron aboard Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, position a boom designed to trap oil contamination in water during a week-long training course designed to increase proficiency in nautical spill response procedures aboard MCAS Beaufort, July 17. The course enabled the students to evaluate environmental and nautical conditions and tactics in order to hastily respond to an oil spill in the waterways leading to MCAS Beaufort.
