University of Washington sophomore Charlie Brennan sits in the cockpit of a Marine Corps AH-1Z Cobra as Capt. Tony Lavista, the pilot, talks to him about the intricacies of the helicopter. Lavista flew the helicopter onto the practice ground at the University of Washington and stayed for approximately three hours showcasing Marine Corps aviation as part of Marine Week. Marine Week showcases Marine Corps equipment, aircraft and technological capabilities to the general public. More than 700 Marines are participating in Marine Week Seattle to give Seattleites the opportunity to meet the individual Marine and celebrate community, country and Corps.
