U.S. Marine Gen. John Kelly, commander of U.S. Southern Command, accompanies Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez after his arrival for an official visit Aug. 6, 2014, at the command's Miami headquarters. Hernandez and other Honduran government officials met with command leaders and other U.S. officials to discuss regional threats and ongoing security cooperation efforts. While at SOUTHCOM, the Honduran delegation took part in a dialogue focused on how U.S. security assistance can help Central American nations strengthen their security capacity, disrupt transnational organized crime and improve citizen security.
