Soldiers of the 412th Civil Affairs Battalion practice parachute landing falls, or PLFs, under the watchful eyes of jumpmasters on Aug. 7, 2014. The 412th Civil Affairs Battalion, a U.S. Army Reserve unit from Columbus, Ohio, is required to conduct eight jumps per year. When deployed, the unit conducts civil affairs operations in support of Central Command’s theater and task force commanders. Soldiers of the 412th Civil Affairs Battalion have been on the front lines of operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and in the Horn of Africa.
