Cpl. Ashley K. Lee, a heavy equipment operator, and Cpl. Nathan M. Coffey, a military police, both with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, stand at attention as they are recognized for their accomplishment during Corporal's Course 353-14 aboard the USS San Diego, Aug. 14, 2014. Lee competed among a group of her peers and graduated at the top of her class, earning her the title of Class Honor Graduate. Coffey competed among a group of his peers and was nominated for the Gung-Ho award for being most enthusiastic and disciplined. The 11th MEU and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group deployed to the 7th Fleet area of operations and are a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious missions across the full range of military operations.
