Master Sgt. Michael Sims, 5th Special Operations Squadron, has gauze secured to a head wound by a 96th Medical Group Airman during a major accident response exercise Aug. 6 at Duke Field. The simulated accident was a mid-air collision of a 33rd Fighter Wing joint strike fighter and a 919th Special Operations Wing C-145. Emergency responders from the base and the city were called to a downed aircraft scenario featuring fire, wreckage and victims with multiple injuries. The responders had to work as a team and coordinate movements at the simulated crash site, put out fires and attend to the wounded victims. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Jasmin Taylor)
