A Qatari falconer retrieves a prize raptor from Ingra Ostheimer, from Kansas City, Mo., outside the beach home of Qatar army Maj. Gen. Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah, armed forces chief of staff, in Al Khor, Qatar, Feb. 10. Ostheimer was allowed to launch the falcon during a lure training demonstration. "It was very gracious for the general to invite us to his beach home," she said. "It's a great way for the Americans to interact with the Qataris and learn Arabic culture."
