Africa Partnership Station Nashville embarked trainees practice manning a fire hose aboard of USS Nashville during damage control training. West African Sailors from Benin, Ghana and Togo embarked Nashville for three weeks as part of APS. The Norfolk-based amphibious transport dock ship is deployed as part of APS, an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Europe and Naval Forces Africa, which aims to work cooperatively with U.S. and international partners to enhance maritime safety and security for the continent of Africa. Nashville's APS mission is focused on collaborative efforts in West and Central Africa.
