Sgt. John Calvert, a Baltimore, Md., native and intelligence specialist with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Africa 14 keeps his fellow service members safe while on deployment by staying updated on events and tensions occurring in areas where Marines might operate. Prior to their departure from Naval Air Station Sigonella, Marines and Sailors were given a country-specific brief outlining everything from local culture to off-limits areas.
