Spc. William Cranford, indirect fire infantryman, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, aims an M252 81 mm mortar tube during the first of a three-day Mortar Training and Evaluation Program, Aug. 19, 2014. When they received the dry fire missions, two Soldiers manned each M252 81 mm mortar and performed all the necessary steps to effectively fire rounds at the enemy.
