Kendall Midcalf, an active-shooter role player for Exercise Desert Fire 2014, is apprehended by military police during Desert Fire at Cannon Air Defense Complex, a satellite installation of MCAS Yuma, Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014. Role players were a valuable asset for the emergency responding personnel because it enhanced the realism of the training event and give them a real-world feel of what to do during an active-shooter scenario.
