Lance Cpl. Tyler Bears, AAV7A1 tracked vehicle Crewman, bore sights the .50-caliber machine gun on the AAV7A1 during a live-fire exercise at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia, Aug. 25. Bore sighting is done to ensure the sights are aligned with the barrel. Marines with Alpha Company, 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, spent a week training to perfect fire and maneuver drills, which teach the Marines how to properly communicate, seek defilade, and to sight in and eliminate mission targets.
