Throughout her nearly 30-year career in the Corps, Master Gunnery Sgt. Avril (Michelle) King deployed to Afghanistan and was the first female enlisted person to be chosen for the Congressional Fellowship Program. King currently serves as the Special Assistant to the Wounded Warrior Hiring and Support Initiative for the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Manpower and Reserve Affairs Office.
