Myrtle Sanders sits in front of more than 7,000 students representing all counties in Maryland as they prepare to create a 15 stars/15 stripes Star-Spangled Banner Living Flag located inside Fort McHenry, Sept. 9. Sanders participated in the same event 100 years ago and was the guest of honor during the event. The event commemorated the Battle of Baltimore, which provided the backdrop for Francis Scott Key's famous poem, "Defence of Fort McHenry," which later became America's national anthem.
