Sgt. Michael Williams, a food service specialist with 1st Battalion, 10th Marines, 2nd Marine Division, scoops corn and okra onto a plate to be taste tested during a cook off competition at Star-Spangled Spectacular Baltimore Sept. 12, 2014. The Marines faced off against other teams including two teams from the U.S. Navy, and teams from Turkey, Canada, Germany and England. The Marine Corps team made Old Bay-grilled rock fish with a rosemary rice, sautéed corn and okra with lemon pepper butter. The Marines, from various units, including II Marine Expeditionary Force, 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, and 2nd Marine Logistics Group based at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464 from Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C., arrived in Baltimore aboard the USS Oak Hill Sept. 10 to participate in the “Star-Spangled Spectacular” honoring the 200-year anniversary of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
