A CH-53E Super Stallion with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 (Reinforced)[VMM-163(REIN)], 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), lands on the on the flight deck during a casualty evacuation drills conducted aboard the USS San Diego (LPD 22), Sept 16. The USS San Diego is part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime and theater security operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
