Chief Fire Controlman David Aitken of Prince George, Va. practices in the Fire Arms Training Simulator (FATS) at the US Marine Corps Reserve Center in Brunswick, Maine, Thursday. The FATS is a video-based system designed to teach quick action under combat pressure. The Pre Commissioning unit for DDG 1000, Zumwalt, trained Thursday in Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection basics. The crew is expected to meet the same Force Protection standards as other Navy Destroyers -- despite having fewer than half the number of Sailors stationed aboard.
