U.S. Marines with the Force Reconnaissance detachment, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), fire their M4 carbines from behind cover during a close-quarters tactics and movement live-fire range on the flight deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) while underway. San Diego is part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 11th MEU, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
