A U.S. Army AH-64D Longbow Apache helicopter is secured on the flight deck as two landing craft air cushions leave the well deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) in the Persian Gulf April 29, 2014. The Mesa Verde is part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, was deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
