Capt. Thomas J. Quinn, commanding officer, NAS Sigonella, presents Radioman Chief Vincent Scarso (USN retired), one of the original Sailors at NAS Sigonella in 1959, a plank owner certificate at a ceremony for the 50th anniversary of Naval Air Station Sigonella June 12 on the support side of Sigonella. Scarso was one of 12 individuals at the ceremony who were on NAS Sigonella when it opened in 1959 and were presented certificates. The NAS Sigonella 50th anniversary celebrates 50 years of cooperation and friendship between the U.S. Navy, Italy and the Italian air force 41st Stormo.
