Gov. Chris Christie reviews New Jersey National Guard troops during the annual Military Review at the National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt, N.J., Sept. 28, 2014. Prior to the ceremony, Christie signed a proclamation naming Sept. 28, 2014, as Parents of Fallen Military Sons and Daughter Day. The Military Review is a 122-year-old tradition that allows governors – the commander-in-chief of the state militia – the opportunity to review the Soldiers and Airmen of the New Jersey National Guard. Before the review, New Jersey Run for the Fallen participants met with members of Staff Sgt. Frank T. Carvill’s family. Carvill was killed in action in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom June 4, 2004. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt. Mark C. Olsen/Released)
