The opening ceremony to commence the beginning of Steppe Eagle 14 took place Sept. 24, 2014. Steppe Eagle is an annual multi-lateral exercise conducted by U.S. Army Central and the Arizona Army National Guard with the Kazakhstan Ministry of Defense to enhance peacekeeping and peace support operation capabilities. Approximately ten nations are participating in Steppe Eagle 14. This is the first year the exercise will take place at the Joint Multinational Training Center in Hohenfels, Germany.
