Soldiers from the 553rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 4th Sustainment Brigade have begun the retrograding process at Kandahar Airfield by closing down the Supply Support Activity point and opening up a Forward Issue and Turn-In Point. Closing the SSA and opening the FITIP will help decrease the amount of excess supplies in KAF by returning excess equipment back into the Army’s supply inventory and saving millions in tax payer money.
