Staff Sgt. Thomas Honeycutt, a Military Working Dog handler (MWD), has been apprehended by MWD, Ito, a 3 year old German Sheppard. Ito is trained to capture suspects while out on patrol. Ito’s handler Pfc. Marcel Nelms gives the command to release, as Ito sits and awaits Pfc. Nelms to put the suspect under arrest. The three are assigned to the 100th Military Working Dog Detachment from Miesau Army Ammo Depot. The scenario was a demonstration of searching a village for IED’s while using a canine.
