Army Reserve Sgt. Danielle R. Torres, a civil affairs non-commissioned officer, checks the hydraulics of her Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle in preparation for mission here on March 21, 2009. Torres, a corrections officer from Galloway, N.J., is the gunner on the lead MRAP for the team, and the only woman qualified as a gunner on the .50-caliber machine gun. She is part of the 304th Civil Affairs Brigade which is nearing its tour here in Iraq. The brigade is the senior civil affairs command for approximately 800 civil affairs Soldiers and Sailors supporting war fighting commanders throughout Iraq. This Army Reserve brigade, composed predominantly of Warrior Citizen Soldiers from the Philadelphia area, is part of the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne), headquartered at Fort Bragg, N.C.
