U.S. Air Force Gen. Darren W. McDew, commander, Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., introduces himself to Master Sgt. Bruce Greene, 145th Maintenance Group, as he tours the maintenance hangar at the North Carolina Air National Guard base, Charlotte Douglas International Airport. McDew set a goal to visit as many AMC bases as possible during his first six months as commander and the North Carolina Air National Guard was proud to be amongst his list. Air Mobility Command’s mission is to provide rapid, global mobility and sustainment for America’s armed forces. The command also provides a crucial role in providing humanitarian support at home and around the world. The men and women of AMC, including the active duty, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve and civilians, provide airlift, aerial refueling, special air mission and aeromedical evacuation.
