First Lt. Luke Scott, a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter pilot with Company A, 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion “Lobos,” 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, low crawls under concertina wire at the III Corps air assault obstacle course during the battalion’s spur ride at Fort Hood, Texas, Oct. 2. During the event, troopers were put through two days of trials, including navigating the leader reaction and air assault obstacle courses, participating in a simulated medical evacuation during a live helicopter flight, and qualifying with their assigned weapons, as well as many other grueling tasks. At the conclusion of the event, Soldiers who completed the ride were entered into the Order of the Spur and were awarded their silver spurs. (U.S. Army photo by Spc.
