Lt. Gen. David H. Berger, commanding officer of I Marine Expeditionary Force, gives a speech to the Marines of I Marine Headquarters Group about the importance of the unit’s 25th anniversary aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Oct. 10, 2014. Prior to being called I MHG, the element was labeled 1st Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Intelligence Group. The reimagined group has several specialties under one command, including 1st Intelligence Battalion, 9th Communication Battalion, 1st Radio Battalion, 1st Law Enforcement Battalion and 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company of I Marine Expeditionary Force.
