Sgt. 1st Class Ray Nolan, a Williamsburg, Va., native and aircraft components repair supervisor with the 128th Aviation Brigade, climbs on top of an M1083 cargo truck in preparation to inspect an AN/VRC-103 antenna’s functionality during a logistical demonstration by Companies E and F, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division at West Fort Hood, Texas, Oct. 17. The vehicle, which houses a universal ground control station, is utilized during field training exercises and rotations to the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Calif. Soldiers with the 128th Aviation Brigade are participating in the LOGDEMO by providing expertise and collecting data as air cavalry Soldiers are validated on more than 450 essential unmanned aircraft system tasks.
