Sailors aboard the U.S. Navy's forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) move supplies for a Project Handclasp community relations project. Project Handclasp is a program within the Department of the Navy that accepts humanitarian, educational and goodwill donations and ships them to foreign nations on a space-available basis aboard U.S. Navy vessels. George Washington and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, provide a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
