Sgt. Jose Estevez, a senior analyst with 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division briefs the group on the history of the battalion and the reason behind the unit wearing the French Fourragere before the ceremony held to award the French officers the fourragere aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 20, 2014. The French officers are being embedded with 2nd Bn., 6th Marines for the international exercise Bold Alligator. “We will accept them into the battalion, they’ll partner with us, they’ll go on missions with us, and they’ll observe our staff planning,” said Lt. Col. James Lively, the battalion commander for 2nd Bn., 6th Marines. “We’re really going to work hard to integrate them into all of our planning exercises.”
