Pvt. Janet Fields, of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Spc. Cabot Peden, of Douglas, Wyo., medics from the Wyoming Army National Guard's Medical Command, treat Staff Sgt. Wayne Jones, a medical instructor from Cheyenne, Wyo., for multiple injuries sustained from a mock vehicular hit and run during a training event at Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center Aug. 19. Medics from all of Wyoming's line units are assembled once a year for validation of their skills. Jones says using animal organs and bones adds realism to the training. "They look nasty and kind of stink, real trauma looks nasty and it kind of stinks," he explains. Look for the full story in the upcoming issue of "Cowboy Guard" magazine.
