Vietnam War-era Marine veterans visited the Sensor Control and Management Platoon, 1st Intelligence Battalion, I Marine Expeditionary Force, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Nov. 1, 2014. The original SCAMP was activated in 1968 with the intent to use an electronic system to monitor the movement of enemy traffic and material from North to South Vietnam via deployed sensor devices on the "Ho Chi Minh Trail." The retirees, who were once members of the original SCAMP, had the opportunity to see the technological advancements of remote sensor capabilities as well as reminisce about their time in the Marine Corps.
