Sgt. Maj. Enrique X. Hines of the Bronx, NY, (right) instructs Marines on the proper techniques in hand to hand combat in the hangar bay aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer. Twenty-seven Marines participated in the Marine Corps Martial-Arts Instructors Course which graduated, April 8. Students were taught how to correctly give hip-pocket classes, instruct other Marines in the Marine Corps Martial-Arts Program, and endured numerous hours of physical training throughout the 15 day-long course. The 13th MEU and Boxer Amphibious Ready Group are currently on a deployment in support of regional and Maritime Security Operations.
