Commanders from the Japanese Self-Defense Force’s rescue squadrons stand with U.S. Air Force Capt. Christian Braunlich, 212th Rescue Squadron combat rescue officer, and U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Doug Dugdale, 33rd Rescue Squadron deployed commander, on the flightline at Komatsu Air Base, Japan, Nov. 9, 2014. Members from 33rd and 212th RQS arrived at Komatsu AB Nov. 7-9 in preparation for exercise Keen Sword 2015. During this exercise the combat rescue teams will conduct joint-bilateral training to increase the interoperability required to support the defense of Japan, respond to a potential crisis and offer humanitarian assistance.
