FORT MCPHERSON, Ga. Oct, 13, 2004 -- Lt. Gen. R. Steven Whitcomb pauses a moment before stepping up onto the platform prior to a ceremony where he assumed command of the Third U.S. Army, Army Central Command and the Coalition Forces Land Component Command.
