International service members participate in the Act of Remembrance service in Memorial Gardens at Camp Butmir, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nov. 11, 2014. The service included a poppy wreath laying ceremony, where senior national representatives from the United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Spain, Poland, Macedonia, the United States, Canada, Greece, and France laid memorial wreaths on behalf of their national contingents. The poppy is an enduring symbol of Remembrance Day in the United Kingdom because of poppy fields that grew on World War I battlefields in France and Belgium after the declaration of peace.
