Sailors aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55), flagship for Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2), prepare to render side honors to the Turkish navy frigate TCG Kemalreis (F 247) upon its departure from SNMG2. Kemalreis formally detached from SNMG2 on Nov. 15 following four months of operations. During this period, the ship and her crew completed two transatlantic crossings, visited 14 ports in North America and the Mediterranean region, and participated in five high-tempo exercises with allied nations.
