Sgt. 1st Class Michael Conner II displays an Army Challenge Coin given to one of his students in his mentorship group at East Cary Middle School in Cary, N.C., Nov. 12. Conner and two other Soldiers are part of a mentorship program linking the Guard with ECMS. The mentors work to instill a positive resource for students to reach out to and model themselves after.
