Rear Adm. Kurt Tidd (right), presents a ceremonial plaque to Royal Australian Navy Commodore Bruce Kafer (left), during a change of command ceremony for Combined Task Force 152, April 27, at the Combined Maritime Forces headquarters. The ceremony marked the end of the Royal Australian Navy's first command of the task force, which serves as a center of coalition naval excellence inside the Persian Gulf. CTF 152 coordinates Theater Security Cooperation activities with regional partners and conducts Maritime Security Operations. MSO help develop security in the maritime environment, which promotes stability and global prosperity. These operations complement the counterterrorism and security efforts of regional nations and seek to impede the use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons or other material.
