Sgt. Timothy Brown, a member of the District of Columbia Army National Guard’s 275th Military Police Battalion, recently intervened in a potentially life-threatening situation at a Virginia hospital. While working at the hospital in October, Brown noticed a man struggling with a police officer. He sensed danger; realizing that the policeman was in need of immediate assistance. Brown helped subdue the unstable individual by using a military police technique until the deputy was able to apply handcuffs. Brown will be honored for his heroism during the D.C. National Guard’s Awards and Decorations Ceremony on Dec. 7 at the District of Columbia Armory. He will receive the District of Columbia Hero Recognition Award.
