A Purple Heart, awarded posthumosely to Staff Sgt. Christopher S. Potts sits on display next to a photo of Potts as part of a memorial in his honor. Potts was Killed in Action on October 3rd, 2004. While on patrol in Taji, Iraq, Potts came under enemy fire, and stood his ground returning fire while ordering his men to stay back. Potts was honored for his heroism during a memorial service at Camp Taji by the 39th Brigade Combat Team.
