Leaning outside the widow of his CH-53E Super Stallion, an aerial observer with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361, keeps an eye on activities on the ground during an external cargo lift training exercise aboard Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, April 27. Aircrew members aboard the CH-53E are often the only people using radio communication to inform the pilots of the lift progress. All other commands and directions are relayed through hand and arm signals.
