Lance Cpl. Damien Strait, a lifeguard with Headquarters Support Battalion’s Beach Detachment, watches over the shore of Onslow Beach aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Aug. 28. The shores of the beach are guarded by 30 Marines who provide for the safety and cleanliness of the area annually, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
