The 4th MEB, 1st Infantry Division participated in a weeklong exercise, dubbed Sudden Response, at Fort Benning, Ga., which culminated Dec. 12. The exercise was designed to test the 4th MEB's lead as task force operations for the Joint Task Force-Civil Support's mission to respond to a disaster on the home front. Civilian agencies and units from around the U.S. gathered to augment and fall under the task force operations umbrella.
