Chief Warrant Officer Four Gene Goetzke, UH-60 Black Hawk pilot, assigned to Company A, 2nd Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, 1st Armor Division, Task Force Iron Knights from Fort Bliss, Texas, communicates with his co-pilot before taking off Dec. 19, 2014, in Tappita, Liberia. Goetzke helped with transporting the Joint Forces Command – United Assistance commander and other passengers to Ebola treatment unit sites and other destinations throughout Liberia. United Assistance is a Department of Defense operation in Liberia to provide logistics, training and engineering support to U.S. Agency for International Development-led efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in western Africa.
