A combat engineer assigned to the 555th Engineer Brigade received the Purple Heart medal during a ceremony Jan. 5. Spc. Asa Bingham, 22nd Engineer Clearance Company, suffered traumatic brain injury from a roadside bomb blast during deployment to Afghanistan in January 2014.
