Cape Disappointment lighthouse stands more than 200-feet above the entrance to the Columbia River, Jan. 7, 2015. The lighthouse is the second structure planned for the location, after the vessel Oriole wrecked directly below the cape while attempted to cross the bar and both the vessel and all building supplies were lost, however, the 37-man crew narrowly escaped with their lives.
