A Marine with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division provides suppressing fire while the rest of his team moves back to break contact with the enemy during the simulated training exercise aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Jan. 21, 2015. The Marines would conduct a patrol down range, the range targets would pop up simulating enemy targets, and then the immediate action drill would begin. Immediate action drill is when the Marines would act immediately upon coming into contact with the enemy and they would either advance on the enemy position or break contact with an enemy with far superior numbers (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
