An Sh-60B Seahawk helicopter helicopter anti-submarine light (HSL) 60 squadron, “The Immortals,” takes off from guided-missile frigate USS Kauffman (FFG 59). Kauffman is deployed to the Fourth Fleet area of responsibility in support of U.S. Southern Command and Operation Martillo. Operation Martillo is a joint, interagency and multinational collaborative effort to deny transnational criminal organizations air and maritime access to the littoral regions of the Central American isthmus.
